THE CHAMPS BOYS ORCHESTRA - TUBULAR BELLS

I don't know what the Champs Boys Orchestra was, but this is easily the Illest version of Tubular Bells that ever was.

JOE SHERMAN AND THE ARENA BRASS - FEVER

SENOR SOUL - PSYCHOTIC REACTION 45 RPM RIP

In my haste to bring you mp3's of these exclusive slices from out my crate, I over-looked important details, such as bit rate and quality, so from here on out 320 kbps rips only!
That being said if there is a track on the blog you would like a higher-quality version of, please hollar at me and I'd be glad to re-up.
Enjoy this you pencil neck geeks.

THE BIQUETTE FOLK GROUP - ZERO O' CLOCK

Dewolfe library gem right here, mainly raw sounding traditional euro-folk tunes make up the bulk of the Folklariana LP, except for the very last cut entitled "Zero o' Clock", which bares similarities to the Janko Nilovich masterpiece "Drug Song".

THE BIQUETTE FOLK GROUP - ZERO O' CLOCK

SIR MACK RICE - DARK SKIN WOMAN (PT.1)

LEE GAGNON - LES PASSANTS DU SOIR

This soundtrack to an interpretive dance ballet show is chalked full of big drum breaks and funky jazz-rock grooves, get your ignoramus all the way around this cut.

LEE GAGNON - LES PASSANTS DU SOIR

G. KERR ORCHESTRA - BACK LASH

Dirty, funky, you need to dig.

ABACO DREAM - CATWOMAN

A visit to the local record shoppe, proved wise when Birdapres handed this slice over, take my word for it, its psychobserker.

TOUBABOU - MAIS POURQUOI PAS

I got a letter in the mail today that read,
"Hey man, you got any French-language jungle rhythm's with chorus chants about getting high off cocaine?!?"
I replied,
"Yes. Yes I do."
The Person who sent that letter was me.

TOUBABOU - MAIS POURQUOI PAS

THE TRACKS - HEART AND SOUL (VERSION NO. 2)

This little funky bastard is sweeter than moon water. Don't know much about "The Tracks" other than there was a group that went by name "The Soundtracks" on Barclay right around the same time this record came out. Same cats? maybe someone on the Russian space station knows.

SERGE GAINSBOURGH AVEC ALAN HAWKSHAW - SEA SEX AND SUN

Here's a collection of Serge Gainsbourgh Movie scores and themes from French films. This particular cut got the blog treatment due to the involvement of the Mohawks / Shadows / Library Music producer god known as Alan Hawkshaw. Here she is, the weird, laid back, summer anthem, Sea Sex and Sun.

SERGE GAINSBOURGH AVEC ALAN HAWKSHAW - SEA SEX AND SUN

L'ENSEMBLE MONTEREY - OUMPARERE

My pet Cat really likes this jam, it's Oumparere by L'Ensemble Monterey. If they was playin' the tunes in front of my local grocery store, I might just buy my cat the expensive tuna flake rather than the imitation tuna-flavored horse meat he usually gets.

THE LOVE UNLIMITED ORCHESTRA - THEME FROM "TOGETHER BROTHERS" B/W "FIND THE MAN BROS."

The Quad City DJ's later took this riff and made it a modern dancefloor classic, but I'll take the original ay day. The b side to the Barry White conducted "Find The Man Bros." is just as heavy.
Go ahead take 'em both, their like Kitten siblings, ya hate to separate 'em if ya don't have to.

THE LOVE UNLIMITED ORCHESTRA - THEME FROM "TOGETHER BROTHERS" B/W FIND THE MAN BROS.

PAUL HORN - TOO HIGH

Paul Horn, you know, the guy who play's his horn in abandoned castles and sacred temples.
If you need to cure sleep depravity or your trying to make plants grow, usually you could turn to Paul's lungs and his wood-wind instruments. Not today! here we have Paul's version of Stevie Wonder's earth destructing "Too High". Now I'm gonna go eat some Toffee covered peanuts and crash out.

PAUL HORN - TOO HIGH

FAUSTO PAPETTI SAX - MAGIC FLY

Fausto's an easy listening type saxamophoner known for having naked women on all of his album covers, but this '67 release broke my Toonie when I noticed he had a cover of Magic Fly in the ointment. Put this in your Grandma's hearing aid and turn up that tiny little dial to the maxx!

FAUSTO PAPETTI SAX - MAGIC FLY

GOBLIN - DR. FRANKENSTEIN

It's gettin' heavy now. Long before Tyler The Creator was even a tadpole, These evil sounds existed. This Italian Prog Rock band penned the scores to the Dario Argento horror flick "Suspiria" and The George A. Romero Classic, Dawn of The Dead. Apparently the Band Changed members like baby momma's do Diapers and eventually lost the magic that they became known for. Besides the OST work, the album "Roller" is one of only two official albums the group managed to squeeze out and fairly hard to come by...but I have a copy!

GOBLIN - DR. FRANKENSTEIN

BO HANSSON - AT THE HOUSE OF ELROND

Bo Hansson, Charisma label Pioneer and master Swedish musician. This particular selection is from the novel-inspired Soundtrack for The Lord of The Rings. Long before the original cartoon was released Bo let the Tolken tales paint a picture in his brain, which resulted in a most genius score of music. Came across this German "Best Of" press of certain Bo masterpieces, released by Fontana and le its like pouring gravy all over your brains knowhatimsayin'? -  Bo Hansson passed away just last April of 2010.

SIERRA GAMES - POLICE QUEST 1 - IN PURSUIT OF THE DEATH ANGEL

When I was just a boy, my friends was playin' Nintendo's and stuff, but around my crib, My old man decided to join the fast-moving technological world of Computers. He Bought the Commodore 64 By Amiga and I mastered almost every single extremely slow-moving, 2-D screen scrolling RPG Game put out by the Sierra Company,  Including the King's Quest, Space Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, Gold Rush!, The Black Cauldron and 2 of the Police Quest series. I saw this the other day at Value Village and had to take 'er back home.

T. VALENTINO LIBRARY MUSIC CATALOGS

This Valentino Library sampler that I just picked up today came with these 3 Catalogs of Sound effects, Musical Scores and services available from the T. Valentino Group Inc.
Valentino's clients once included musical scores on movies such as Saturday Night Fever, Friday the 13th Part 3, King of Comedy, Eating Raul, One Track Pony, Ice Castles and Apocolypse Now plus Television themes for Saturday Night Live, Good Morning America, Sesame Street and ABC Network Promo's.
The Catalog contains around 100 music albums with every type of theme that you could possibly pour over a big steamin' stack of braincells.

Booker T and Bob James

Booker T & the M.G.'s - Melting Pot

Stax classic, just a great track. Off the LP "Melting Pot"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Only 2 people downloaded my last post, the Maynard Ferguson version of Star Trek, that makes it one of the rarest mp3's out there. Only 3 copies exist. I bet you wish you would've downloaded it now that its rare, but too late.

For Bob James version, I'm keeping it at an edition of 5. After that I'm taking down the link, so get it quick.

This is a great track to clear out a party. Gonna give Bob a pass on this one though, he did write Angela

Philippe Briche & Leoneud - Burble Pie

A short but sweet theme off of this Ovation / Freesound Library Record. The few that I have of the French based Freesound series have proved good investments. I Cant believe I passed this thing up a couple times, until one afternoon, I couldn't stand the fact it was there in that spot all alone, lost, lonely, in need of a home, so I bit the bullet and got my fingaz dirty! This particular album is mainly instrumentation scores without beats, but as soon as you take a bite of Burble Pie, your brain melts.
Dial up the Fat Heads you turkeys, can you even dig this!!!!????

PHILIPPE BRICHE & LEONEUD - BURBLE PIE

SEX O' CLOCK USA - GET IT UP BABY

Viagra, Cialis, Ground up Deer-Horn medicines, mystic spells and hypersensitivity surround the speakers when Sex O' Clock USA gets on the box. This smoothed out groove might just have been in the air when you were conceived.

SEX O' CLOCK USA - GET IT UP BABY

THE BARONET - CROCODILE DANCE

Don't know a whole lot about "The Baronet", but this B side to the Telephone 75 single is a funky disco style theme with some ritcheous moog throwdows through-out.

THE BARONET - CROCODILE DANCE

FRANCOIS DOMPIERRE - CLAUSTROPHOBEAT

I Couldn't not share this beautifully awesome-but-short breakbeat from French Canadian Orchestrator , Francois Dompierre. With a full orchestra and band Francois goes all-over the place on the self titled LP "Dompierre", but the most obvious choice for me would be this particular ode to closed quarters confinement.

THE BOB BROOKS MUSIC CO. AND CHORUS - THE WINNIPEG CONNECTION

This Library-style soundtrack to the 1976 blockbuster movie, "To Keep This Land Alive" produced by the Reimer Company, intended for Big Rig employees and customers contains a hidden gem of sorts. At first glance this record might seem like some crappy country western twang type theme record, and in ways it sorta is, but Bob Brooks comes correct on a weird, synthed out theme for my home town called "The Winnipeg Connection". My copy even contains a personal hand signed message from Don S. Reimer himself to Barbra & Ray, that reads "I think about things that aren't and wonder how they would be if they were, then cause them to happen - DSR", words of a true long-hauler visionary. This revolutionist of film and transport must sit in his empty bath-tub and listen to these killer grooves all night long.
Tell 'em GEE DEE sentchya.
THE BOB BROOKS MUSIC CO. AND CHORUS - THE WINNIPEG CONNECTION

SOUL EAST - FUNKY LADY

The original King Label 45 press of Funky Lady (part 1) by Soul East.
A standard Funk / Soul classic for your crate, We only deal with strictly originals and not those re-pressed fakes!!!

CHRISTINE PILZER - AH-HEM-HO-UH-ERRR....

So it's Ritualistic French chanting over a psyched out garage track you want eh?
Well you've come to the right corner of the Matrix friendo.
Either that or you've taken a completely wrong turn in your mystical journey, pop this Christine Pilzer 45 in your brain's Discman and cry your self to sleep in the deep dark woods of French Canadian experimental rock.

CHRISTINE PILZER - AH-HEM-HO-UH-ERRR...

SERGE GAINSBOURG - DISCOPHOTEQUE

I'll bet ya wish ya owned this one, it's the real McCoy, but you'll hafta settle for the counterfeit IPod melting mp3 instead. Coming off the original 1977 soundtrack of "Madame Claude", the genius of the immortal Serge Gainsbourg shines through with this beauty of an instrumental theme. Just wait till I drop some more Gainsbourg gemstones in the future, Bookmark us. I promise we're worth the click.

JIMMY McGRIFF - THE BIRD

I unintentionally have a lot of records with naked ladies on 'em, and they're usually useful for somethin'.
This poor record was sitting on the floor of DJ Kutdown's recording studio for atleast a year and a half, he no doubt made a killer beat out of it but had no use for it after that, so I finally said enough's enough playboy, hand over tha goods!
The only other Jimmy McGriff slice I have is the Canadian Sunset 45 single, which is a laid back, soft jazzy organ joint, but after peeping "The Bird" you'll be setting the musical score to your very own home-made porno flick with the greasy groove's that haunt this hallowed record sleeve.
Also shouts out to Birdapres.

JIMMY McGRIFF - THE BIRD

Maynard Ferguson - Star Trek

Only Maynard himself could turn the Star Trek theme into this. If you want a good gauge of how many nerds there are at a party, then throw this one on.

Les Extremes - Un Fleur en Passant

Les Extremes - Un Fleur en Passant (1970)

EXTREME, eh not so much. This actually the b-side of this single, the other side (J'y crois encore) is pretty good too, I just like this one better. These guys only put out 2 singles, the other one J'ai rien à perdre / Je ne sais again on Vogue in 1969.

http://www.mediafire.com/?n6b33rbrk63p10k

Here's the cover for the single I found on the web:

Richard Hayman - Hare Krishna

Richard Hayman - Hare Krishna

Weird synthy production on this cover of the Hair musical. The b-side is a pretty good cover of magic carpet ride too.

JOHN KLEIN & THE PAUL BAILLARGEON ORCHESTRA - EXPO 67 THEME SONG

This record is so damn dope, It is a 45 RPM single arranged by the Sun Life Centenary group and features a Carillon Player, playing the Sun Life Centenary Carillon, still with me? A Carillon is a big contraption with a series of bells placed along racks, they are large complicated structures and a primitive instrument mostly used in cathedrals and churches. In this case the above mentioned company, an insurance company, got behind the Montreal Expo 67 and rode the wave, Interestingly though the theme doesn't appear as official as it is nowhere mentioned on the Wikipedia site. A one, John Klein gets mad busy on the bell contraption while the Funk Orchestra of Paul Baillargeon cracks the universe in half. Big Drums, Big Grooves, Big Flutes, and a big crazy medieval bell system, I wish it was Expo 67 forever.

JOHN KLEIN AND THE PAUL BAILLARGEON ORCHESTRA - EXPO 67 THEME SONG

"MAD DOG" VACHON - LE RAP A' MAD DOG

Continuing with weird rap records, I bring to you this french Canadian gem stone. Now I don't speak the french language very well, or actually at all but I think I understand tha God Mad Dog to the fullest. Vachon  is a WWE Hall of fame inductee and part of wrestling royalty, and one day he got in a studio and felt the urge to purge a page of raps. At one point in the track he even takes a shot at Bruce Springsteen, some guy sings a chorus hook for Mad Dog in between verses, but he only corny's-up the track. Mad Dog Delivers the mail on his one and only attempt at rappin', he is 82 years old nowadays and still goes strong, running his own wrestling circuit and milking space cows, and I betchya he could tear up an Alchemist beat.
